Awesome non flashy carrier!,
I do not carry purses and never had so when it came to looking for a bag to carry my pomeranian in, I kept running into the same problem; all these dog purses/carriers that were Paris Hilton-esque. Foo foo and overly blinged out. Gross in my opinion. Anyways, it was a long search but I came across this sport sack carrier and loved it!!!
This carrier is amazing because:
1. Non foo foo, non blingy, non purse first and foremost! It’s simple, ordinary and normal looking. It doesn’t scream “Look I’m carry a dog!” People will mistaken it for a lap top carrier (I actually used mine for that) or a normal tote/messenger bag. This is awesome for those that don’t want a purse.
2. Pockets!!!! Pockets!!! On the backside is a large compartment and inside is a pocket with a cover flap to hold your cell phone (holds an iphone), a bigger pocket beside it for maybe a wallet or something, space for paperwork or what have you. On the main flap of the carrier, there’s a zipper compartment to hold more stuff. There’s a small handle. Inside of the carrier there’s a sheep skin bottom portion, mesh in the front, back and top (top has a zipper mesh). There are two pockets as well on this side. Pretty awesome.
Now, I do have a small dog, over 4 lbs but less than 5lbs, He fits but being so full of fur, he’s huge. He can’t turn around but can lay down but it’s just a bit too small for him. If he was a chihuahua, then it would be perfect! So I’m going to buy another in medium which will definitely be perfect for him. This one, small, I have to leave the zipper open so he can sit up and stick his head out, like the dog in the picture. Definitely for those with small yorkies, poms smaller in size than mine, puppies for sure, maybe a dachshund…etc. My small cat was very cramped in it and I would never use it to carry her and she is SMALL! If you have a dog that’s a lhasa or maltese or furry as hell pom such as mine, go a size up in the carrier!
I don’t think, if you’re flying, that the airlines would say no to it. But when I fly out again, we’ll see.
Overall this carrier is just fantastic and non purse like. And excellent because people would never suspect there’s a dog inside.

|Exactly what I wanted and more,
I recently got a new job that allows dogs in the office – yay! I take the bus to work – boo! Enter this bag – yay, again!
My dog weighs around 8 lbs, so the bag is pretty roomy for her without being unwieldy in size as I cram onto public transit. I really didn’t want to be *that* girl carrying around a “purse dog”, so the simple style was a must for me. The bag has plenty of ventilation but looks a lot like a standard messenger bag. Though pets are allowed in bags on the bus, you never know which driver you’re going to get or how fellow passengers are going to react. With this bag, most people don’t ever notice she’s there.
But wait, here’s the very best part… I can fit my 13″ MacBook and a notebook in the side pocket! Doggy/laptop bag? That was a bonus I was not expecting.
The bag is on the pricier side comparatively, but delivers every penny in quality and functionality. It’s really well-designed and solidly constructed – nice strap, zippers, clasp. The only caution I would have is if you have a high energy dog. Mine is pretty mellow, but there have been one or two times where she really wants to pop her head out and say hi. There is enough space at the top between the zipper and edge of the bag that a dog of my size can squeeze her head through, even with the top flap closed. If you think it might be a problem for you, I’d recommended getting the small. I would not recommend it at all for a cat. My 14 yr old, 9 lb kitty can houdini her way out of it in seconds.

|Great slim bag. Perfect for the small pet 5 lbs and under.,
My dog is a slim 4 lb Chihuahua / Pomeranian mix. Going in its a tight fit but once inside she doesn’t mind the smaller space. She’s gotten used to sliding in headfirst as the opening is slim. It is large enough for her to turn around in while inside but I notice she tends to want to stick her head out more than when she’s in the lager sherpa bag I use. This is nice and slim and easy to carry around. There’s a cover flap that clips shut and when the bag is like that you can’t really tell its a pet carry bag. The material is nice and not flimsy. There are pockets to put stuff in but more than anything else this is one of the smallest and most inconspicuous pet carriers around.
If you have a small pet (I’d say under 5 lbs), want a great small and sturdy carrier, and want to be slightly inconspicuous with your pet this item is just what you want. You could stuff a larger small pet in this bag but it won’t be very comfortable and would be cramped in this.
EDIT: The Sport Sack I purchased is black.
